Mom Up Close & Personal
Over the years I have come to know quite a bit of my family history, but this story of my mother was on a more personal level. During my sophomore year in high school, I had a chance to write a family history for an assignment. As a base for this report, I started with that taped interview with my mother. Then I recorded various conversations with her on more personal experiences that were not included in the past report or interview. Recent interviews took place during many personal conversations on the thirty-minute drive to school, at home with a friend, and a phone discussion with her older sister. Living with and knowing my mother for almost twenty years and recent personal conversations helped me write her story. This is the way she told her reflections of experiences.
